At age 18, excited to donate blood for the first time as a civic duty, the experiencer went to donate. On the way home with their father, they stopped at a veterinarian's office to pick up medication for their elderly dog. The father parked at the end of a long uphill driveway. Walking up the hill to the office, they became confused and dizzy, recognizing it wasn't wise to exert themselves after donating blood. They sat in a chair telling the attendant (a family acquaintance) they felt unwell. The father then parked closer and approached the door. Next, they saw a beam of light surrounding them while descending below the floor. Looking up from 30 feet below, they saw themselves sitting in the chair with head fallen back as father entered. They stood in a beam of light with total darkness outside extending to infinity. When about to step out of the light, a hand touched their right shoulder (identified as their angel) and a voice warned: "Don't move out of the light or you will never leave this place." In the palpable darkness, millions of illuminated souls were visible, milling around with moans and cries of utter grief and sorrow. Some sat on the ground having given up searching for the exit. One woman in particular saw them, approached very close, and telepathically sent a desperate plea for help - her face remains memorable. After what seemed like a long time watching the lost souls, they returned to the chair. Initially thinking father was shaking them to stop, it was actually the tail end of a convulsion. The father's face was white with fear. They now understand this was an upper level of hell where there is no hope.
