Around age five, the experiencer was being tickled by brothers for an extended time. Though laughing, the pain was excruciating and they couldn't catch breath to tell them it hurt. The tickling continued until they couldn't breathe at all or get any air, terrified by the inability to breathe. Everything went black. Next, they were looking at their white popcorn ceiling with a large hole in it, dark and covered with a thin veil. Moving toward the ceiling and approaching the hole, shapes became visible on the other side. In the center was a man with a crowd behind and beside him. The experiencer felt tremendous love, peace, and kindness. The man extended his hands and said "Come" in a gentle, tender voice with a tremendous sense of welcome. Throughout the experience there was no fear, only curiosity and comfort from His presence. However, feeling despair at leaving parents, the child said "No, Please don't make me leave Mommy and Daddy." The man smiled sadly and let them return. They awoke alone, with brothers gone. Due to young age, personality or health changes are unknown, but the experience was never mentioned to family. The main lasting effect is never questioning that something exists beyond this world. The experience provided certainty about the afterlife despite being so young.
