Ina had been experiencing severe bleeding for three days in July 1982, with blood in her urine and coughing up blood. By the time she reached the hospital, her hemoglobin level was critically low at 0.3, indicating a life-threatening condition. She has Lupus, which may have contributed to the vascular complications causing veins in her legs to appear burst.
During her near-death experience, Ina clearly left her body and experienced incredible peace and joy. She felt totally at peace despite feeling sadness for those left behind. She experienced a sense of harmony and unity with the universe, suddenly understanding everything about the universe. Though she did not pass through a tunnel or see specific beings, she was surrounded by a brilliant light of mystical origin. Ina made a conscious decision to return to life, feeling that this experience was something she needed to go through to understand there is nothing to fear in death. She has since used her experience to help others cope with losing loved ones. Following the NDE, she reports strong psychic abilities, ease with reading Tarot cards, encounters with orbs, and UFO sightings, feeling very aware of universal happenings. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The experience includes separation from the body, brilliant divine light, supernatural understanding, and peaceful transcendent state consistent with biblical accounts of divine encounters. The sense of unity and understanding aligns with biblical concepts of divine revelation. Using the experience to comfort others reflects biblical compassion and ministry. Unbiblical elements: The reported psychic abilities, Tarot card reading, and pagan religious identification are problematic from a biblical perspective. Tarot and divination are specifically prohibited in scripture (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). The UFO sightings and orb encounters suggest New Age influences incompatible with biblical Christianity.
