Tammy underwent a hysterectomy on July 24, 2015, for adenocarcinoma of the cervix after two prior surgeries. She had been experiencing guilt about an abortion from April 26, 2010. During surgery under anesthesia, she experienced an NDE while coming out of anesthesia. She found herself standing on a number line at zero, wearing the same black skirt and white shirt with black roses she had worn to the hospital. A carbon copy outline of herself stood before her surrounded by white light with red question marks above her head. On the left side, she experienced complete darkness and a life review of all her wrongdoings against the Ten Commandments, feeling every emotion of those she had hurt. She felt extreme heat on her left side, hotter than a furnace, and saw two burning human figurines screaming in pain - her ex-husband and his father - with the smell of burning hair and decayed flesh. On the right side, she saw light, flowers, and a vision of a tall man with a 4-5 year old girl with long black hair who resembled her. The girl asked "Mommy, why didn't you keep me?" and Tammy realized this was her aborted child. The girl said she forgave her but told her she needed to change and stop treating people meanly. A mysterious tall man in an aqua blue shirt held a device with blue and red buttons. After promising to change, he pressed the blue "SEND BACK" button. Upon awakening, she was covered in sweat and had removed her hospital gowns while coming out of anesthesia, repeatedly saying "THE HEAT, THE HEAT, ITS TOO HOT!" The nurses confirmed she had removed multiple gowns during emergence.
