At age 16, the experiencer underwent oral surgery to remove impacted wisdom teeth. They were given Sodium Pentothal (Thiopental Sodium) for anesthesia, but believe the nurse administered too much. During the procedure, they left their earthly plane and had a profound experience. When they awoke, they found the dentist straddling their chair, frantically pounding their chest and screaming "BREATHE!!! BREATHE!!! BREATHE!!!" with absolute fear on his face. The nurse and surgeon whispered back and forth, with the surgeon saying "Okay, let's do this and get this kid out of here." During their NDE, they found themselves enveloped in complete blackness with no bodily form, yet remained themselves as a thought. They were surrounded by and part of an exquisite pure energy of everything, all swirling in love. They sensed they were one with all universes, galaxies, planets, and life - from atoms to quarks and beyond, infinite and pure. They describe it as "Orgasmic Consciousness" - knowing both their separateness and oneness with everything in the greatest sensation of love. The experience was absolute bliss without gravity or physical form. Upon return, they lay paralyzed from the drug with tears streaming, processing what they had experienced and feeling sad about being brought back. The weight of life felt tremendous compared to the other side. They learned that we take our self with us when we die, and they no longer fear death, considering it might be the best thing they ever know.
