On January 6th, after dropping off a friend from work, a man was speeding home when he hit a tree trying to avoid an accident. According to police and tow truck reports obtained later, he was a bloody mess requiring immediate surgery with poor survival chances. He sustained severe facial lacerations from being caught in the windshield, with glass cutting into both cheeks, plus a burst bladder requiring a foot-long abdominal incision. His family didn't find him until three days later.
Despite minimal religious background and church attendance mainly to please others, he experienced a profound spiritual encounter. He found himself in a dark, grayish, smoke-filled place, puzzled and examining his surroundings. Looking down, he saw a ditch stretching infinitely in all directions. Through the smoke and darkness, shapes formed on the ditch's other side - black, ugly creatures that could shift size rapidly, moving smoothly as if floating. He experienced fear multiplied a thousand times, paralyzed with helplessness, convinced he witnessed demons and part of hell itself. He then saw one of the brightest lights ever - white like looking into the sun. A man appeared, smiling and rotating slowly to show his majestic form, transparent from behind, surrounded by colorful lights. Standing before a large gold judge's bench, this being radiated overwhelming love, communicating comfort without words. The experiencer wondered if this was God or Jesus. The being looked toward a light the experiencer knew he wouldn't enter but felt reassured. He then witnessed beings at a hospital - large, beautiful creatures around doctors, families, and children, smiling and comforting them. He heard anguished screams of those not wanting to die and pleas to die. Returning to reality, he recovered in one week despite his severe injuries, bearing permanent facial and abdominal scars as testimony to skeptics.
