After moving to a new city, the experiencer unknowingly drank contaminated water during a water advisory. Believing they had a bladder infection, they drank more water which worsened the condition. They experienced very high fever with excruciating back pain, black tongue and feces indicating severe infection. After inadequate antibiotics failed to help, they passed out from pain. Suddenly floating upward through a tunnel toward a bright omnipresent light, all pain disappeared and they felt lighter than air. The light emanated unconditional love unlike anything experienced on Earth. A light-being on their left communicated telepathically, welcoming them and discussing their situation. They were given the choice to stay or return. Realizing they were dead, they chose to come back, experiencing a convulsive re-entry into their painful, heavy body. The experience took 28 years to fully integrate into their life. The profound encounter with unconditional love and the presence of the welcoming light-being transformed their understanding of death and the nature of consciousness.
