In 2004, the experiencer's heart stopped in the operating room after giving birth to their youngest son. The medical report indicated complications due to heart disease, specifically Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP). The person woke up with a doctor yelling at them to wake up and open their eyes, and was initially angry to be back in their body and the physical world. The experience led to depression for the first couple of weeks, wanting to return "home," which created guilt about having three children to care for.
Upon waking in what they called heaven or "home," the person had no body but retained their identity, surrounded by angels and loved ones who also lacked bodies but whose presence was known through love and support. The first message received was of unconditional love. The experience involved being bathed in beautiful white golden light with immense happiness, contentment, warmth and love beyond words. No verbal communication occurred; everything was transmitted through thought, with questions answered before they could be completed. Three messages were received repeatedly: unconditional love, everything is always as it's supposed to be, and everything will always be all right. There was knowledge that if they didn't return, their children, husband, family and friends would be okay, though returning was not presented as optional. The primary observation was the beautiful white golden light and the presence of angels and loved ones without physical forms, all communicating telepathically with messages of unconditional love and universal rightness. Life changed drastically following the NDE, including divorce and career change. The person no longer fears death, knows souls live on, and believes all people are connected as one. The messages received continue to guide and help navigate life, with the experience recognized as a transformative gift.
