A graduate student experienced heart failure with tachycardia at 4 AM on a Friday, having three distinct near-death experiences during treatment in the cardiac catheterization lab. In the first experience, he appeared on a cloud-like street where he could walk without feeling it. In a huge, bright gymnasium-like structure, three wise elderly men approached him. When he expressed confusion about where he was, they huddled together, then told him "we don't think you're supposed to be here yet."
The second experience occurred in the cath lab during medication testing. He encountered light ten times brighter than the sun that didn't hurt his eyes, enveloped in what felt like warm jello - a bath of absolute unconditional love, acceptance, and forgiveness. He described it as taking all the best experiences of life combined, yet only a fraction of how exquisite the feeling was. A man resembling himself appeared from the light and engaged in telepathic communication. During a comprehensive life review showing everything he had done, said, wrote, and thought, the being gently reassured him that mistakes were how we learn. When asked why we're on earth, the being answered: "You're only here to help each other." The third experience involved floating above rolling green hills like Ireland, then being kicked by a donkey and tumbling backward. A bright light appeared, communicating that he never had to worry or fear for the rest of his life, that the bright place with the three men was his destination after death, and that he only needed to live his life to fulfill his purpose. Following these experiences, he changed careers from accountant to professor, fulfilling the command to help others by teaching students to become accountants. He noted that medical records showed he woke about a week after the initial heart failure, with significant memory gaps. The experiences fundamentally transformed his life purpose and career path.
