Hannah J experienced an NDE on February 2, 2004, during childbirth complications involving severe blood loss. While passing in and out of consciousness, she suddenly saw a field of flowers unlike anything she had ever seen before, with mountains in the background - an untouched, unspoiled, endless landscape. She found herself floating above this field, feeling she was meant to progress to its end.
The realization of what was happening struck her suddenly and powerfully. Her overwhelming desire to raise her children to adulthood hit "like a ton of bricks," and she refused to be there. This determination jolted her back into consciousness, and she never lost consciousness again despite her deteriorating physical condition. The image remains like a snapshot in her head from this brief but profound experience. Following the NDE, she experienced seeing auras and white forms for about four weeks.
