On February 14, 1987, Tammy attended a wedding where she suddenly felt odd and scared with the distinct feeling of dying. Her husband noticed her turning gray. She kept saying "I'm not going to make it" while trying not to make a scene. Her friend turned and looked horrified at her appearance. She collapsed at the church threshold.
Initial experience brought horror and terror - darkness with extremely rapid movement that terrified her beyond description. She clawed back to consciousness, meeting her girlfriend's eye before leaving her body again. She was completely irritated by people trying to help, feeling profoundly safe and secure beyond any earthly experience. CPR was performed which annoyed her greatly. She returned briefly, then was "whisked away" again. This time she couldn't hear anything but knew she was being shown "delicate and beautiful things" while being raised to wonderful light. She felt more secure, safe and loved than ever in her life. She came to a stop standing beside her "heavenly father" - a term she'd never used before. Her husband's voice pierced through dimensions screaming "Tammy please don't die I love you." She told her heavenly father "I can't leave him" and was returned to her body. The contrast between initial terror and ultimate divine safety marked this profound experience.
