A 61-year-old woman underwent temporal artery biopsy under general anesthesia in July 2015. She was not anxious about the procedure, having survived acute respiratory failure in 2013 with lung hemorrhaging, induced coma, and partial lung removal. She considered this biopsy minimal in comparison to her previous near-death experience.
Upon emerging from anesthesia, she felt yanked from a beautiful place. Her memories faded rapidly as consciousness returned, frustrating her deeply.
