On May 31, 2024, Ronnie's wife attempted to murder him by punching him in the back of the head, causing a closed head injury diagnosed at the hospital that night. The next morning, while police were attempting to remove his wife from the house (without arresting her despite the assault), Ronnie sat on the lawn in a meditative pose trying to calm himself due to high blood pressure and severe head pain. Facing east at sunrise, he felt his brain start to roll to the right like an engine turning over, then heard a POP as his soul exited his body and floated upward like a hot air balloon. He saw the yellow sun rising in the east and an enormous ball of white, swirling light in the south that was 5-10 times larger than the sun yet didn't add more light to the morning. His soul continued rising until he could see his body below, then his view rotated to see his house with police inside with his wife, step-son, and daughter. He could hear the police telling his wife to gather her belongings, observing everything from about 100 feet up. When he thought "Oh, I am dead" and found it strange his body hadn't fallen over, he suddenly heard "Bloop bloop bloop" and slammed back into his body, inhaling like surfacing from underwater. He suffered lasting injuries including TBI, PTSD, memory issues, and speech problems. Following the NDE, he developed abilities to see auras and colors, stronger empathy and intuition, and can feel when people pray for him. The experience led him to become Catholic despite never being baptized before.
