In October 2022, Mr. C fell into a coma due to severe, prolonged insomnia that had reached a critical point where she hadn't slept at all for over a week. After calling an ambulance at 7 AM from her Tokyo residence, she lost consciousness, experiencing the world spinning, heart discomfort, breathing difficulty, and stars in her vision. As she fainted, she felt these sensations moving away from her and feared she was dying. She then saw the figure of her father who had passed away more than ten years earlier and heard his voice. When she wondered in her mind if she had to go with him, a strong consciousness came to her saying firmly: "No, you can't leave because you have unfinished work." She later awakened in the hospital emergency room. The experience profoundly impacted her nihilistic worldview, as she understood for the first time the value of her existence through being told by that consciousness that she couldn't leave yet. She now takes medical conditions seriously and has developed a stronger sense of life purpose and meaning. Despite previously having no interest in religion or spirituality, she now feels that life has significance and that she has been confirmed as having value and purpose for continuing to live.
