Hans V was involved in a severe car accident in 1963 while playing hooky with school friends. The vehicle, a 1962 Chevrolet Corvair Monza, lost brakes while coasting down Mount Charleston at high speed and tumbled down the mountainside. One passenger was killed, and Hans went through the entire crash. He experienced floating above the vehicle and observed the helicopter crew loading his bloody, beaten body onto a gurney. The crew declared him dead, which he heard clearly while feeling wonderful and peaceful in his floating state. He watched happily as the helicopter took off toward Vegas before losing consciousness.
During his unconscious state, Hans experienced riding as a little boy on a beautiful merry-go-round with lovely organ music, wearing white clothes along with other children similarly dressed.
