Seven-year-old Ken was playing at a forbidden harbor with his friend Peter when he attempted to jump onto a floating raft but fell short, landing in the water. Unable to swim, he sank to the bottom in a vertical position, experiencing complete relaxation despite the danger. When he tried to surface, he hit his head on the bottom of the raft and everything went black. In this state, a luminous being appeared behind him to his right - an "angel of light" who called him by his nickname "Kukke" and showed him his entire life in detail on a film reel. The angel stopped the movie multiple times to review incidents where Ken had done wrong, particularly focusing on lies he had told and explaining their consequences. The being told Ken he had to return to life, stating: "Now you're coming back into the world, and you're going to be someone who heals the sick, and you're also going to do something else that has to do with music." Ken begged to stay but was refused lovingly. His friend Peter had found him underwater and pulled him up by his hair, with help from a man who performed artificial respiration. Ken had been lifeless for so long the man thought he was dead. The experience eliminated Ken's fear of death and gave him certainty about the afterlife, though he struggled with guilt about lying to his parents about the incident to avoid getting in trouble.
