In January 1975, at age 14-16, Glenda was sleeping in her uncle's car at a 24-hour gas station in Omaha, Nebraska where he worked. Due to the cold, her uncle thoughtfully turned on the car engine while she slept. The car had an exhaust leak requiring windows to be partially open during operation, but when a customer arrived, he was interrupted and forgot to roll down the windows. The car ran for approximately 45 minutes with windows closed, causing carbon monoxide poisoning.
Glenda left her body and traveled through darkness and sadness until finding light and comfort. She encountered a being sitting on a throne who asked her to sit next to him. Before sitting, she saw others behind him and asked if they were angels and if she was one too. She was told "Not at this time, soon you will be." The voices said they would miss her, remember her, and wait for her. Despite wanting to stay in that place of great compassion and wonderful feeling, the light told her she had to return because "your life was not intended to be taken by another." The being showed her scenes from her past life and told her she still had to learn one of life's lessons. She was told of her future - that she would "love the father of my children that I could touch the face of God with that kind of love." As she resisted returning, she was pulled down through the tunnel while something kept telling her to "Wake up and urinate" since no one was there to revive her body. Her uncle found her crawling from the car in what he described as a "deep sleepwalk," repeatedly saying "I must urinate now." Her body was limp as if dead until she urinated as instructed by the voice, which apparently helped eliminate the poisoning. As her life continues, she remembers more of the experience and feels as if her whole lifetime was spent there. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The throne scene strongly resembles biblical heavenly visions (Revelation 4), with a divine figure and surrounding beings (angels). The concept of life not being "intended to be taken by another" reflects biblical sanctity of life and God's sovereignty over death. The life review and future revelation align with divine omniscience. The promise of experiencing divine love through human love echoes biblical teachings about marriage reflecting Christ's love. Unbiblical elements: The statement that she would become an angel "soon" contradicts biblical teaching that humans and angels are distinct creations. Angels are created beings separate from humans (Hebrews 1:14), and humans don't become angels after death. This suggests possible doctrinal confusion or misunderstanding of the being's communication.
