John had experienced severe diverticular bleeding an hour before being helped into his house by family members. Feeling terrible with very low blood pressure, he urgently needed the bathroom. While holding the door frame, his finger was pinched as someone tried to close the door. He then passed out with another significant blood discharge. During his unconscious state of 1-2 minutes, John found himself above and outside his body in total darkness. He experienced tremendous peace, harmony, and the most warm, loving, pleasant feeling imaginable. He saw a small rectangular porthole above him with dim light, sensing two or three beings looking over him. One being asked "What's he doing here?" Another replied "We have no idea." A third stated "He is not due here until ___" with John hearing something about the number 30, unsure if it meant 2030 or 30 years hence. He then fell quickly back into his body, experiencing a massive injection of energy or soft power before regaining consciousness. He awoke groggy on the floor covered in blood. Within 10 minutes he was on the couch with tea, feeling fine with normal blood pressure. The experience left him with tremendous peace and a sense that everything would be fine. He later reflected on his life purpose and resumed meditation. John kept the experience private initially, feeling it confirmed an afterlife existed as a higher realm filled with peace and happiness.
