On October 7, 2000, Geraldine fell asleep at her desk and awoke to see her granddaughter playing with the cat - her last conscious memory before waking in the ICU. She had suffered a cardiac arrest due to chemical imbalances in her body. During the event, she experienced profound blackness that was soft and not frightening, like black velvet rather than the darkness of night.
She found herself aware of her exact position on the ground, seeing herself not with physical eyes but with her mind. She could observe herself from about two feet above, looking down at her body on the floor. She asked mentally, "What happened to me? Did I have a stroke?" She later learned she had fallen exactly in the place and position she had perceived during the experience. Beyond the clear out-of-body observation, she was aware of not being alone. A presence appeared as a weathered cream color against the blackness, reminiscent of the color one might expect of Jesus's tattered robes. While she cannot definitively say she saw Jesus or any specific individual, she experienced a presence and communication. There seems to be a vague memory of doors. Though she cannot recall the specific communication, she retained a deep feeling that the number 3 was critically important - something she was supposed to always remember. She speculates this might represent her daughter and two grandchildren who are central to her life. She experienced emotions progressing from initial confusion to the feeling of learning something very important. She felt she was given knowledge but cannot consciously access it, which frustrates her. It's like remembering you had a significant dream but being unable to recall its content. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: The out-of-body experience with accurate perception of her physical position aligns with accounts of spiritual consciousness surviving bodily death. The presence she encountered, associated with the color of Jesus's robes, suggests a possible Christ encounter. The emphasis on remembering something important (the number 3) could have spiritual significance - perhaps representing the Trinity or her three family members as divine gifts. Unbiblical elements: None identified. The experience lacks any new age concepts, reincarnation themes, or unbiblical theological ideas. The inability to fully recall the communication doesn't constitute an unbiblical element.
