Nine-year-old William experienced clinical death on November 25, 1963, three days after JFK's assassination, when he suffered severe burns over 35% of his body from a campfire accident involving gasoline. Given morphine at the scene and rushed to the hospital, he lost consciousness in the ER and woke in his room seeing his mother. When she screamed for help as his blood drained away, he left his body and floated to a corner above, observing his bandaged form below while feeling sorry for it and enjoying the ability to float. He watched as a surgeon performed a cut-down procedure on his ankle to find a vein, pulling it up and forcefully squeezing blood into his collapsed veins. A force pulled him through the wall where a great light appeared. He floated down a road lined with welcoming black silhouettes of deceased beings. Realizing he was dying, he became distraught and cried, wanting to return to his family and play Little League. God appeared as an 8-foot diameter brilliant light, communicated telepathically, hugged him like a grandfather, and said "It is not your time to die." William awoke the next day initially thinking it was just a dream. His mother later confirmed the medical details he had observed while out of body.
