Valerie had a severe mountain biking accident in Lake Louise, going over handlebars at high speed and hitting her head on a rock, destroying her helmet and badly injuring her arm. She has no memory of the accident itself or how she got down the mountain, with several hours missing. During this time, she appeared in a bright, warm space without a body, greeted by two light-beings with kind eyes who said "Where've you been, we've been waiting for you!" communicating telepathically. She felt overwhelming unconditional love and knew that for light to exist, darkness must also exist. When she told them her mother had breast cancer and wanted to help, one being excitedly went into an impossibly bright light (which Valerie recognized as God) and returned with a cantaloupe-sized ball of light. Upon receiving it, she had a "divine download" understanding everything about healing and health, knowing it was so simple yet unable to retain the specific knowledge. Her mother survived stage 3 cancer and remains cancer-free and medication-free at age 77. The experience left Valerie with lasting peace about death and the afterlife.
