TJ was terrified of dentists and was given laughing gas for a dental procedure after previous attempts with valium failed. While under anesthesia, he found himself floating above his body, observing the room, dentist, and assistant from above. He then stood in a completely dark room where he felt a rope around his waist pulling him toward a pure light figure in a dark robe. He could grab an invisible wall to his right while being pulled, repeatedly saying "I am not ready" as images of his children flashed through his mind. The light being was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen, neither male nor female. The experience ended abruptly when he heard "Oh no! He's going to pop!" He immediately sat up, vomited, and had to hold onto a wall to stabilize. The experience gave him a pleasant, safe feeling about death and confidence that there is something safe for the soul after death, providing comfort that has lasted throughout his life.
