Timothy was taken to the emergency room with excruciating lower back pain from bulging discs and stenosis. He had a DNR in place and refused oxygen. The physician gave him morphine IV, overestimating his weight by 30 pounds, causing him to stop breathing for 3-4 minutes. From the ceiling, Timothy watched the medical team panic, yelling his name and hitting his chest and ribcage to stimulate breathing. He then left through what felt like an incandescent lightbulb into a bright, warm, diffused space where he was embraced by another being and felt overwhelming joy and unconditional love multiplied beyond his greatest life moments. Just as he was about to be fully enveloped in this incredible warmth, he felt thrown back like on a rollercoaster. He regained consciousness hearing the frantic physician cursing and seeing the wide-eyed nurses and police officers who had helped bring him in. Later, physicians confirmed he had technically died, and multiple staff members came to ask about his experience during his two-day hospital stay.
