Doug, a security guard, had pneumococcal meningitis and was in a medicated coma for 5 weeks. During this time, he found himself in a white room/void responding telepathically to questions about not wanting to go yet due to unfinished important work that would impact many people. He walked down a paved road with wildflower fields and mountains, reaching a black doorway with light beyond. Through it, he saw the reverse scene with many people gathering. He thought it was cool but wasn't ready, so returned. Upon waking, he told his mother and stepfather "I am here to bless all of them with love." A nurse had told his mother to prepare for his funeral. He had 105°F fevers but recovered without mental issues, even reciting his driver's license number. Religious speakers of many faiths visited, amazed at his survival. He woke to 9/11 news but felt peace about death.
