Thangam was doing household chores when she choked, couldn't breathe, felt her head getting heavy then light, fell onto the bed and passed out. She felt herself floating and sliding upwards on a bright white light slide in sky-blue and white colors, reaching a room like a doctor's waiting room at the top. Her deceased mother and four sisters were there wearing white jackets with clouds beneath their feet, all looking young and happy. Her mother sat closest to a gold door with a small space beside her. When Thangam moved to sit next to her mother, her mother spread her arms blocking her, her smile turning cross, telling her to go and that she shouldn't be there. Thangam felt dropped back into her body and started coughing, feeling happy and smiling afterward. She experienced extreme happiness like a child with a new Christmas toy, incredible peace and joy, feeling united with the world and achieving something great. The presence of the closed golden door seemed to house the supreme being. She felt loved and accepted but was protected and sent back by her mother and aunts. Since the experience, she takes each day as it comes without rigid religious beliefs, having gained messages from a higher power and sensing when someone will pass on or how things will turn out.
