Sandra DP, age 6, experienced a near-death event while drowning in a Wisconsin lake in summer 1959 or 1960. While swimming with her family, she ran down a pier and jumped into water too deep for her to stand. Unable to swim, she began sinking calmly without fear, observing bubbles rising from her mouth. She then found herself above her body, seeing herself upside-down wearing an orange swimsuit with yellow animal print. She floated quickly through an upward-sloping tunnel toward brilliant light, arriving at a beautiful place with abundant green vegetation. To her right was an extremely bright being of light, much larger than herself, whom she now identifies as Jesus Christ. The being was kind, loving, and seemed to know her. Though communication was non-verbal, she was made to understand she could not stay and had to return, despite her strong desire to remain. She witnessed her father frantically diving and searching in the murky water until his hands found her ankles. The moment he grabbed her, she felt "sucked back" into her body. Her father performed rescue breathing, expelling "frog water" from her lungs. The experience left her with lifelong questions about her purpose, believing she was sent back for a reason. She kept the experience secret for over 40 years before sharing it with her father, who confirmed finding her lifeless underwater. The event shaped her into a serious, analytical person who masks deep thoughts with humor while constantly searching for her life's purpose.
