Ricky crashed his motorcycle while traveling over 140 mph, avoiding a car. He flipped three times with the bike before being launched forward and landing headfirst. Upon impact, he immediately experienced a bright, warm light that felt intensely peaceful, with no worries existing. While bathed in this light, he observed the accident scene from above, watching his friends hysterically panicking over his body. He could see his own body lying on the ground looking up at the sky with his bicep up and arm facing down, covered in road rash and blood everywhere. Despite watching this traumatic scene, he felt profound peace and the sense that everything would be okay. During this out-of-body experience, he heard an internal voice that was not his own say, "It's not your time to have a reason." He then woke up staring at the desert sky as adrenaline hit and he jumped to his feet. His friend told him he hadn't taken a breath in about five minutes and everyone was panicked. Remarkably, he started his damaged motorcycle and attempted to ride 40 miles to the hospital, making it 25 miles before needing assistance. The doctor stated he was the luckiest patient that day - the fourth motorcycle accident but the only survivor.
