Carlos G was in his fourth year of U.S. Army service, stationed in Germany during field training in November 2018. After enduring a week of harsh weather conditions including rain, snow, and hail, he stood guard for seven hours in freezing conditions. Suffering from severe hypothermia, his consciousness began to fade as he sat against a tree. Instantly, all pain and cold vanished, and he found himself standing barefoot in tall green grass, surrounded by indescribable beauty with rolling hills and mayflower trees. A bright flash pulled him back to his cold, painful body where his friend was trying to save him. He experienced this transition twice before being taken for medical treatment. While on the other side, he felt completely washed clean of pain and life, experiencing only comfort without encountering any beings or being able to journey forward. The experience changed his whole life, leading him to pray daily, act with more purpose, and treat people as if they will live thousands of lives together.
