Phil R was at work preparing for a production meeting when he took a large breath and slumped in his chair. Colleagues reported he spun in the chair, fell to the floor, and had an intense seizure for about 2 minutes, punching himself and bruising his face. During both this cardiac arrest and another identical one 5 weeks later at home (captured by his loop recorder), Phil experienced remarkable NDEs. While his heart was stopped, he was fully aware and experienced thousands of photo snapshots of his life in rapid succession, shown in a warming, nurturing, healing light. The sensation was like MDMA warmth but far more intense, loving, and nurturing with complete well-being and calm. He felt ultimate knowledge and love from the universe/God appraising and downloading his life back to him in rapid fire. It was the most peaceful harmony with the universe he'd felt in 40 years. The light source seemed warm and nurturing, and he entered what felt like a non-earthly realm of love. Though unconscious about 3-5 minutes each time, the experience felt both instantaneous and eternal. After diagnosis of congenital hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and fitting with an internal loop recorder, Phil now prays with internal appreciation to the universe and feels more connected to a higher being.
