On October 24, 2013, Briana was 27 weeks pregnant and hospitalized for pre-term labor. She had an immediate allergic reaction to medication given to stop contractions, causing her heart rate to spike dangerously. After telling the nurse she felt dizzy, an alarm went off and multiple nurses rushed into the room frantically yelling commands as they worked on her body.
Briana found herself looking down from the corner of the room where walls meet ceiling, seeing nurses and doctors in blue and green scrubs blocking her view of her body. After darkness and movement through what she assumes was a tunnel, she emerged in an open plane with no ceiling, floor, or walls. The space was light grey with a fog-like quality she could see through, with no gravity and a floating sensation like being underwater. She encountered two dark, almost black, oval-shaped Beings with extremities protruding from the bottom. Despite their intimidating appearance, they brought comfort and understanding, communicating telepathically without words. They informed her she was dying and had permission to stay on earth or move on, but couldn't remain in that space. They emphasized that returning would mean completing unfinished work that only she could do. She returned abruptly to her body with the doctor joking that they "almost killed you trying to stop" the preterm labor. She kept the experience secret for 9 years. Her daughter was born at 36 weeks. The experience eliminated her fear of death and helps combat suicidal ideation from mental illness.
