On June 25, 2024, Brent was walking with his wife on his parents' Tennessee farm around midnight after an argument. He heard what sounded like gunshots and pushed his wife away before experiencing extreme pain in his chest and lower stomach. He fell to the ground with his chest throbbing in agony, believing this was the end of his life.
Brent experienced his life flashing before his eyes, shown every life event and emotion he and others felt from his actions. He had an out-of-body experience where he saw his body with his wife crying over him, unable to understand why she couldn't see or hear him. He felt a pull and was transported to another realm where he experienced profound peace and love in gorgeous fields of wildflowers with the bluest sky and vibrant colors. He encountered multiple deceased relatives including his grandmother Delia (mother's mother who died when he was a teen), his grandfather (father's father who never met him), and an eight-year-old girl he discovered was his sister who was stillborn two years before his birth. His grandmother called him "hijo" and told him it wasn't his time, that he had amazing things to do and his children needed him. She gave specific messages for family members and reassured him about his daughter Scarlett. Upon returning to his body in the hospital bed, he found his wife praying desperately. After the experience, he began having vivid dreams, seeing shadows, and hearing whispers, believing his NDE awakened something within him and changed him forever.
