Blaire was diagnosed with lung cancer in September 2021. While driving from college, she experienced severe coughing and chest pains on the motorway, leading her to pull over and call for an ambulance. She recalls falling to the ground and being helped by a man in a white van.
During her near-death experience, Blaire had an out-of-body experience where she saw her body lying in the hospital with doctors and nurses around her. She walked over and held her own hand before entering a tunnel where she witnessed her entire life from birth to having her son at age 19. She emerged into a bright light where she encountered her deceased grandmother (Nana) who had died when Blaire was 15, and someone she believed was her unborn baby sister. Her Nana held her hand and told her there was still much she had to do and would achieve great things. Blaire was then transported through what she described as a space-like tunnel before everything went black. She observed herself from outside her body in the hospital before the encounter with deceased relatives. Upon awakening in the hospital bed, she found her father and son crying beside her. Multiple doctors and nurses rushed in to run tests. The experience transformed her perspective on life and death, removing her fear of dying and strengthening her religious beliefs, though she notes her reactions have become slower since the event.
