Nancy was out with friends at a nightclub and had minimal alcohol. After accepting a joint outside and taking one puff, she lost consciousness twice. During the second blackout, her heart stopped and she wasn't breathing. She felt sucked into the ground, falling faster until she briefly relived milliseconds of life moments - crying at age 3, receiving first A+, moments of anger. She then found herself surrounded by light feeling warm and happy. A female voice asked "How did you get here?" and she saw silhouettes of her two grandfathers and grandmother emanating sadness with understanding. From above, she watched a blonde nurse run over shouting that her heart wasn't beating, performing CPR while friends held back her crying sister. The being told her "You can always go back" and she was sucked back into her body. She felt depersonalized for weeks, later attempted drowning, and became severely depressed. A psychologist confirmed it was an NDE. She reconnected with Catholicism after her mother's death.
