Margo was in the hospital giving birth when life-threatening complications arose. Her platelet count had dropped below 80,000 due to a rare pregnancy-induced blood disease called TTP (thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura), which was causing multiple blood clots in small vessels and excessive platelet consumption. This resulted in lack of oxygen to vital organs and she suffered two mini-strokes. The medical team withheld pain medication due to her low platelet count and high hemorrhage risk. She was rushed to emergency surgery for an immediate C-section to save both her life and her baby's life. Throughout the ordeal, she drifted in and out of consciousness from extreme pain levels.
During her near-death state, Margo repeatedly encountered her "soul dog" Winston who had died in 2021. He had been more like a child to her than a pet, and his death had been incredibly traumatic. Winston appeared right near her face, communicating that she needed to make a choice - she could go with him if she felt the time was right, or she could stay and fight for her son. She felt contained in an orb or bubble of unearthly light, experiencing incredible peace and happiness. She felt she was going home and experienced unity with the universe, suddenly understanding that we are merely energy existing on frequencies beyond human comprehension. The experience presented a profound choice between the peaceful transition to death or fighting to remain alive for her newborn son. Though elated and at peace in this transcendent state, Margo felt a powerful maternal pull to stay with her child. Winston's presence seemed to guide rather than persuade, allowing her to make her own decision. She consciously chose to fight, knowing it would mean a difficult recovery but understanding she needed to be there for her son. Margo's experience transformed her worldview completely. She now understands with certainty that consciousness continues after death and that there are multiple layers of reality beyond normal perception. The encounter was so visceral and real that she can recall it more clearly than meeting her son for the first time. She emerged more spiritual, recognizing that death is a choice at the threshold and that love - particularly maternal love - can anchor someone to life even when peace beckons from beyond.
