At age 16, Marcy was riding her bicycle home from school in her uniform skirt when she needed to cross a busy four-way stop intersection. After checking both directions and seeing no traffic, she began crossing when a vehicle came speeding through the stop sign and hit her sideways in a violent T-bone collision. The impact threw her off the bicycle in one direction while the bicycle flew the opposite way. She immediately lost consciousness from the severe impact.
During her unconscious state, Marcy found herself floating above her body, looking down at herself lying on the road surrounded by people at the accident scene. She could clearly see the entire scene from this elevated perspective, observing her body sprawled on the pavement with her school skirt raised over her legs. Initially calm, she experienced a moment of panic when she realized it was her own body below. Two concerns triggered her return: fear that her father would be angry about the wrecked bicycle, and embarrassment about her skirt being up. The moment she decided she needed to get back into her body, she immediately felt herself being sucked back down. Her floating consciousness was pulled back into her physical form, and she regained physical consciousness on the road. During the out-of-body experience, her vision was acutely focused on the scene below, but interestingly, she couldn't hear the environment or people around her body - it was as if she existed in a quieter, separate space while floating above. This second NDE differed significantly from her first experience at age 13. Rather than encountering darkness and light with a guiding voice, this was purely an out-of-body observation of the accident scene. The experience reinforced her belief that consciousness exists beyond the physical body and that there's definitely more after this life. She developed strong intuition and premonition dreams following both experiences, convincing her that what matters is closure, forgiveness, and being a good person.
