Kristie contracted necrotizing fasciitis resulting in blood poisoning, organ failure, and weeks in a coma. During this time, she experienced complete darkness devoid of all physical senses. Despite the darkness, she felt no fear but rather an overwhelming sense of comfort, love, and complete security. She felt surrounded by countless entities emanating love and welcome, though she could not identify them. She experienced consciousness without form, existing outside of time and space. The experience brought her incredible peace, wholeness, and freedom from all earthly worries and insecurities. Upon recovery, she initially felt resentful about being brought back, missing the complete compassion and love of that state. The experience eliminated her fear of death and gave her certainty that consciousness continues beyond physical death.
