Glenn D, age 12, experienced an NDE in 1952 during dental extraction of three wisdom teeth under anesthesia. His heart may have stopped during the procedure. His consciousness left his body and awakened in darkness above the ceiling, moving along what felt like a vibrating pulley belt at high speed through space. He saw three spherical lights he thought were planets. He then floated to the building's roof where he met Tommy, a childhood friend who had died five years earlier from a fall. Tommy appeared the same age, growing at the same rate, and revealed details about his death including the name of the child with him. Glenn discovered he could float without falling and decided to visit his grandmother six miles away. He observed her moving things on a table and sitting by the window. Tommy warned him not to go too far or he couldn't return, then told him to "go back in." Glenn descended through the roof back into his body in the dental chair. When he told his grandmother what he saw, she confirmed everything but was upset and moved away. Years later he understood this was part of God's design for his life.
