Daniel W experienced cardiac arrest while driving on the German Autobahn in November 2006. His friend Hobert, a respiratory therapist with 30 years experience, performed CPR after hearing the death rattle. During the cardiac arrest, Daniel found himself standing in a brilliant shaft of white light surrounded by darkness. The light was extremely bright but did not burn or require squinting. He could see through the surrounding blackness in a paradoxical way. He felt no pain despite previous injuries and realized time was not measured in this realm. A voice like a thousand rivers spoke to him, making every cell in his body feel alive with joy and peace. When asked what he wanted to do, he said he wanted to go forward, but when asked about his wife Becky and daughters, he said they would be fine. After being resuscitated with a cardiac thump procedure, Daniel was deeply troubled until he saw Jesus sitting on a white throne in the night sky, confirming the reality of his experience. He now has no fear of death and feels called to live righteously.
