Sandra hemorrhaged after delivering her fourth child, an 11 lb 12 oz baby boy via C-section. While holding her newborn in recovery, she suddenly went limp and the baby rolled into her lap. As medical chaos ensued with multiple doctors and nurses working frantically to save her life, Sandra experienced blissful peace in a white room that glowed as its own light source. A man she later identified as Jesus smiled at her, giving her complete peace and calm that still brings her to tears 14 years later. Though his mouth didn't move, he told her she had to go back. Multiple times she was pulled between the chaotic hospital room - where staff pushed on her stomach, prepared emergency hysterectomy equipment, and injected numerous medications - and the peaceful white room with this man. Each time she begged to stay, feeling completely at home and at peace. He told her that one day she would be with him but not now, that she had to go back. During one return to the hospital room, the anesthesia nurse leaned close to her face saying "Stay with me," and Sandra could smell onions and garlic on her breath. She received 6 bags of blood total, losing more blood than most people have in their bodies (hemoglobin dropped from 13.8 to 8.2 even after transfusions). When her surgeon visited, Sandra proved her memory by correctly identifying that the anesthesia nurse had eaten spaghetti and garlic bread for lunch - a detail impossible to know without conscious awareness during the crisis.
