Natalia had been diagnosed with SVT (supraventricular tachycardia), a heart condition that causes extremely rapid heart rate. She had been to the hospital multiple times before for this condition, which was usually resolved quickly with medication. This time was different - her heart rate remained at 240 beats per minute for six hours despite receiving six doses of medication. The medical team was preparing to use the defibrillator when Natalia had her out-of-body experience.
She found herself viewing the trauma room from the back, top right corner. She could see herself on the bed surrounded by doctors, nurses, and medical staff. The scene was silent, and the ceiling appeared to be glowing with an almost completely white light. She watched as the medical team prepared the defibrillator for use on her body below. This observation was particularly meaningful as she had no fear and felt strangely at peace during what should have been a terrifying moment. The experience ended abruptly, and her next memory was waking up in an ambulance being transported to another hospital's ICU. She didn't remember the experience until weeks later, when the memory suddenly returned. The delayed recall is not uncommon in near-death experiences, particularly when significant medical trauma is involved. The experience provided her with lasting comfort, removing her fear of death and giving her a sense that dying is not as frightening as she had previously believed.
