On April 3, 2023, Alicia S experienced a severe anaphylactic reaction after eating an orange and taking ibuprofen. Having previously experienced anaphylaxis from hazelnuts, she recognized the severity and went to a nearby bar for help calling an ambulance. Her throat was swelling, she lost her voice, and was suffocating with endless mucus. After the ambulance arrived and paramedics began treatment, she suddenly lost her vision and told them "I don't see, I don't see," though they didn't seem to hear her.
As paramedics laid her on the floor and administered IVs and injections, Alicia suddenly stopped feeling the stress and suffocation. She felt the most wonderful peace she had ever experienced, describing it as beyond words. She realized she no longer had lungs, then confirmed she had no eyes either. Despite having no mouth, she wasn't worried about not being able to communicate. She felt wrapped in cotton, in the best place possible. She could hear people from the bar crying and doctors working on her. She sensed deceased relatives nearby - her grandmother, husband's uncle and aunt, grandfathers, and uncle - feeling them as a communion though not seeing them. She was suddenly pulled back by two adrenaline needles causing strong pain in her leg and chest, as the first hadn't revived her. She returned thinking "What am I doing here again," shaking violently. She cried when seeing her husband at the hospital, grieving the loss of that peaceful state. Since returning, everything seems unreal and dissociated. She lost 7kg in two months due to food rejection following the experience. The experience eliminated her previous fear of death, showing her that death itself is wonderful - only what leads to it is painful. She feels that consciousness continues, describing feeling everything was LOVE, unity, and connection with the universe.
