Maria came home from shopping feeling extremely fatigued due to heart issues and overexertion. She sat in her living room armchair and began losing consciousness while her cleaning assistant was present. The assistant's voice became increasingly distant as Maria's awareness faded.
She then witnessed a wine/purple colored silhouette shaped like a skittle emerge from the edges of her body. In the corner of the room appeared a fairly wide black tunnel with pieces of green and black frames protruding from the upper corners. She felt part of herself beginning to leave with the silhouette, recognizing her authentic self was within it. The skittle shape moved quickly toward the tunnel entrance. At that critical moment, Maria internally declared with a voice that seemed to come from within: "I DON'T WANT TO GO THERE." Immediately, the skittle returned rapidly to her body. She gradually revived and regained consciousness. The experience was entirely distressing, characterized by fear rather than peace. She later told her doctor, whose reaction was one of great surprise at her account.
