Lotte was traveling with her parents in a fully-loaded Land Rover through the Great Karoo half-desert when they encountered a 40-ton truck while passing at 120 km/h. A strong wind gust caused their vehicle to sway, leading to loss of control. The truck drove on top of them, dragging the vehicle before it flipped five times. Lotte had unbuckled her seatbelt moments before impact and was thrown against the ceiling, hearing her neck crack as her head bent.
Immediately upon impact, time shifted to slow motion before she entered a space of bright white light without boundaries. She felt herself floating and melting into this endless space, becoming one with it. She experienced overwhelming clarity and endless calm, knowing she was between worlds. Her life passed through her in emotions, leaving her happy with no regrets and at complete peace with crossing over. She regained consciousness outside the vehicle with minor injuries despite the severity of the accident. Hours later in the ambulance, while fully awake, she witnessed a vision of the accident from a mountain viewpoint. She saw a massive angel approaching as the accident unfolded, laying on their roof and wrapping its wings tightly around the vehicle throughout the crashes, only releasing them once stopped. The experience left her with a complete change in values, becoming warm and loving instead of cold, with no fear of death and heightened empathy. She developed abilities to feel others' pain and foresee events.
