Steffan, a veteran with PTSD, was shot seven times by police after firing a warning shot during a flashback. He clinically died at least three times during resuscitation. During his NDE, he saw himself from an outside perspective as a ball of light and energy flying super-fast through a dark tunnel. After the tunnel, he found himself in the most beautiful blue water he'd ever seen - a coloring-book blue that reminded him of childhood. On both sides was equally beautiful grass with people lined up, all with smiles radiating love in every direction. At the end of the water was the most beautiful light, like a sun he could stare at directly. He felt compelled to reach this light with his entire being. Upon reaching the light, he experienced unearthly ecstasy beyond words. God then communicated to him that "it's not your time" or "I'm not ready" - not in words but through energy passing directly from God to him. He was shocked and resuscitated multiple times, fighting hard against returning because he didn't want to leave that place of perfect love. The surgeon later told him he had come back screaming "No, no, let me go!" and had to be restrained despite severe injuries. The experience eliminated his fear of death completely. He now knows God exists without doubt and looks forward to eventually returning "home." He emphasizes that the other side is nothing to fear and encourages being happy for those who pass, as they experience more love than can be imagined.
