Sam experienced a severe cardiac emergency on April 15, 2022, with his heart rate reaching 226 beats per minute. In the ambulance, EMTs made six attempts to restart his heart using Adenosine and defibrillator. During each attempt, Sam had profound out-of-body experiences. Initially, he experienced reality folding at 90-degree angles, then began reliving past memories where remaining calm brought lessons but anxiety created chaos. A bright white light appeared repeatedly, which he initially resisted knowing what it represented. By the fifth attempt, overwhelmed by chaos and guilt about leaving loved ones, he surrendered and moved toward the light. He entered a room of pure light where he lay on a table surrounded by seven tall, slender beings appearing as shadows within bright auras. One being held an orb of liquid gold light with geometric patterns. The beings cleaned his body with this light while commending him for his life. The lead being questioned why this was being "wasted" on Sam, but a distant voice insisted Sam was "the only one who could handle all of this." The being then forcefully pushed the orb into Sam's chest. Sam repeatedly returned to consciousness between attempts, amazing EMTs who were shocked he remained conscious and communicative throughout. He told them "nobody was going to be able to stop my heart." The experience left him feeling calm, reflective, and centered, with new understanding about universal connection and life's meaning.
