Petro experienced complications after childbirth when the placenta would not deliver, losing 1.5L of blood. The placenta evacuation surgery appeared successful, but approximately 15cm of placenta was retained, causing severe infection weeks later. The infection count reached 400 and she went into full septic shock with organ failure requiring emergency intervention.
During the medical crisis when she was losing consciousness, everything suddenly went quiet and peaceful. She became aware of a Presence to her right, slightly behind her shoulder. Without words but with full comprehension, she was asked whether she wanted to stay with her family on earth or go ahead toward a pink-ish, green-ish beautiful unknown. She felt amazing, peaceful, and tranquil with a nice smell and airy atmosphere. The experience involved a critical choice between staying or leaving. She saw a soft pink glow surrounded by even softer green light ahead of her. The Presence communicated through understanding rather than words, creating a sense of urgency that if she didn't choose soon it would be too late. She thought of her two daughters (ages 3 and 4 weeks) and husband and decided to stay. Upon returning, she immediately heard everything again and felt how sick her body was. Dr. Z had to insert a central venous catheter without anesthetic as a last resort. She underwent a hysterectomy and spent days in ICU before recovering. The experience left her understanding why people choose to die - it's peaceful, nothing hurts, and one feels completely calm and safe.
