Dr. Sahar, a dentist, experienced an NDE during the birth of her second son on June 23, 2012. During preparation for C-section surgery with spinal injection, she had trouble breathing and told the anesthesiologist, who assured her it would improve with oxygen. Instead, she went into cardiac arrest with no blood pressure or pulse, requiring CPR to be resuscitated.
During the experience, she found herself transported to a medical clinic from her childhood that her mother used to take her to when sick. She was instantly there without needing to walk, sitting on a bench waiting her turn. Many people in gray clothing were standing in line, though she couldn't see their faces clearly. Looking through a large glass window, she saw a beautiful garden with grass of an indescribable green color she had never seen before. Though no sun was visible, it was a beautiful day. Beyond the garden were magical green trees like a jungle that made her feel wonderful and drew her to go there. When she went to ask why she hadn't been called after waiting so long, a man at the check-in counter told her through wordless emotional communication that many people had been waiting for hours, it wasn't her turn yet, and she should sit down and wait. When she turned back, she realized her 5-year-old son wasn't there though she thought she had brought him. She became nervous and shouted his name with all her power. She suddenly heard her physician calling her name and returned to find them all happy, feeling severe chest pain from CPR. Her son was successfully delivered. The next day, the matron of nurses confirmed she had nearly died, having no blood pressure or pulse, saying it was God's will she survived. The experience transformed her dental practice as she began seeing patients as human beings rather than just cases, leading to increased success and popularity in her field.
