Renata D was serving in the Navy when she had a motorcycle accident on April 19, 1983, outside the base. Her last memory was preparing to mount the motorcycle. She then recalls seeing doctors and nurses in blue scrubs surrounding her, counting "one, two, three" to transfer her from gurney to bed. Suddenly, she was floating above her body and found herself face-to-face with Jesus. He wore a white robe and had brownish-gray hair. She saw the brightest illumination of white light that overshadowed everything. Renata felt surreal peace with no concept of time - the most amazing calm she had ever encountered. Everything seemed at a standstill. Jesus stretched out his hand and said, "It's not your time yet." She then returned to her body with no other memories of the accident. The experience was neither eerie nor frightening, just profound peace. Since then, Renata is not afraid of dying and has converted from her Jewish/Romanian Orthodox upbringing to Christianity. She became more empathetic and aware of life's fragility. The experience made her understand she was saved and gave her certainty about God's existence. She can partially recreate the feeling during deep worship. Renata's transformation from confused religious background to committed Christian faith, combined with her verified encounter with Jesus, demonstrates a powerful spiritual conversion. She continues to volunteer with hospice, comforting others in their time of need.
