Lee, a firefighter/EMT, experienced severe COVID-19 with life-threatening breathing problems. After feeling something heavy on his chest and being unable to exhale, he told himself "This is it!" before losing consciousness. He found himself floating high above an amazing forest that extended for miles, with a beautiful calm lake in the distance. He felt no pain, was moving slowly, wanted to stay in that place, and had no worries. In a blink, he returned to the hospital where the ER doctor said he was lucky and would have needed a ventilator if not better soon. He tested positive for COVID-19 and spent 4 days hospitalized. The experience gave him a different outlook on death with no more fear. He believes in a wonderful afterlife though hasn't shared widely fearing disbelief. The experience felt timeless yet lasted only a moment.
