Christoph suffered a pulmonary embolism on July 29, 2021, creating a life-threatening medical emergency. During his unconsciousness, time seemed to stand still and the medical staff trying to save him felt strangely familiar, as if they were longtime friends. While unconscious, he experienced having many questions answered in ways he couldn't explain. Rather than seeing a tunnel, he encountered a unique light that seemed to vibrate and emit a kind of sound. This vibrating, sound-emitting light completely removed his fear and gave him deep peace. He describes this light as his salvation. His lung made a miraculous recovery within 14 days, which he attributes to the healing power of the light he encountered. The experience left him with heightened sensory awareness - he reports better hearing, now able to perceive more natural and animal sounds than before. He also experienced an altered sense of time, feeling as though he had been away for years despite the brief duration. He felt happiness, love, and warmth during the experience, along with incredible peace and joy. The experience gave him a sense of understanding about love being the answer to life's questions. As a Catholic, he believes the light and frequency he encountered was God. The experience strengthened his faith and religious conviction.
